This morning we were invited to a Parisian private mansion for the official launch of the Vacheron Constantin Harmony collection, which we previously mentioned during the SIHH (Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie). To tell a little more about this place, it is no less than where Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the PSG star striker, lived during his early days in Paris. An exceptional place for exceptional timepieces (especially when you slip them on your wrist – take the Rhabilleurs’ word for it…)
260th Anniversary Vacheron Constantin – Harmony Collection
This emblematic Harmony collection sets the mood with evocative lines. Inspired by a mythical 1928 timepiece, this collection has been redesigned to produce pieces which are just as exceptional.
First, thanks to a cushion case which sets off the round or tonneau cases of the Company’s classic collections. Next, owing to a single push-button chronograph, the complexity of which enhances these models.
Just as Vacheron Constantin would have it, the brand’s perfect image is further confirmed by these pieces certified Poinçon de Genève. We could only shoot two of the four models in this collection, but if you wish to see the complete collection, just click here.
Vacheron Constantin – Harmony Chronographe Calibre 3300
First, the Harmony Chronographe Calibre 3300 has a pink gold cushion case which houses the manual-winding Calibre 3300.A calibre completely updated by one of the oldest watchmaking manufactures. In addition to its long 65 hour power reserve, this single push-button chronograph movement takes the form of the classic architecture of the new calibres presented this year by Vacheron Constantin.
As an anniversary edition, only 260 copies of this model will be offered (number of years the watchmaking company has existed), each individually numbered.
In its quest for perfection, the Vacheron Constantin watchmakers have endowed this chronographic watch with two hammers for the start, stop and reset functions – instead of only one, so that the hands, especially the second hands, don’t shake during the start of the chronograph.
For a grand finale, this movement is nostalgic, using functions from historical medical watches, and display a pulsimetic graduation painted in dark red on the rim of the dial which is used to track the pulse, measured on a scale of 30 beats.
This launch has found a true harmony between technological innovations and the brand’s historic heritage. Our affection for this watchmaking company is strengthened again, even more than during the last SIHH.
Vacheron Constantin – Harmony Dual Time Calibre 2460DT
This watch with two time zones is endowed with the new self-winding Calibre 2460DT, and is among today’s most useful and sought after complications.
Like all the creations of this anniversary edition, it is certified Poinçon de Genève, providing a guarantee of origin, fine workmanship, durability and know-how.
We present this magnificent timepiece against the muted backdrop of this hotel room, which will probably not be the last one to be here.
In line with these unique models, the brand’s designers wished to pay homage to its heritage, even in the smallest details, modelled on this oscillating weight decorated with a commemorative motif of delicate scrolls.
This unusual motif, also called “gravure fleurisanne” is inspired by the arabesques which decorated the cock on the oldest pocket watch belonging to the Company, signed by Jean-Marc Constantin in 1755.
