I wouldn’t consider Paris to be a sunny city. As a matter of fact, I’d say that it was damn grey. But once in a blue moon we’ll have miraculous periods of sun, and perfect, everyone’s out on the streets with their Ray Ban shades chatting away in front of cafés or just strolling the streets to see and to be seen.
So where to go in times when there’s just no sun? Don’t fret, this week we’re taking you to a little gem of a place that will, for a moment, bring sunny rays into all our lives. Tucked away in the unassuming rue d’Enghien in the 10th district (of all places I know, but you shan’t be disappointed), this bar and grill, simply called Floyd’s, will surprise you.
When you step foot inside the joint, it looks like your average dark American bar. Now the surprise: go towards the back…and get ready to leave the grey behind.
It’s no less than a piece of California at the heart of Paris. Glowing soft light, warm wood hues, and best of all, the smell of real smokey barbecue and sight of refreshing Californian cocktails.
Whether you’ll be coming here to enjoy their savory barbecued meats, tasty beef tacos, or fresh fire-grilled sardines with friends or family, one thing’s for sure: you’ll all be leaving the place as happy and carefree as valley girls and guys. Take it from me, the Californian state-of-mind is contagious, and when it’s cold and rainy in Paris, we’re more than glad to be infected.
