Let us continue our overview of the new features announced for the SIHH 2013 with the most accessible brand of the Richemont group: Baume & Mercier. Certainly more affordable, but with a great history since its founding in 1830. This year, the brand presents a new collection of classic and timeless watches that might suit us. Here is a focus on the Baume & Mercier Clifton collection!

Clifton Automatic Silver Dial

Its reasonable diameter of 41 mm and aesthetics inspired by Baume & Mercier collections from the 50s, make this Clifton watch a secure and formal value. We can easily say that you won’t make any mistake by buying this type of watches.

Offered on a black alligator strap with triple-folding clasp with safety push, this model is equipped with a silvered dial with Arabic numerals and indexes, recalling the references of “golden fifties”.

Well balanced, the traditional aspect of this Clifton is underlined by the presence of blued steel hands set in motion by automatic caliber Sellita SW260-1 (4 Hz). Visible through the transparent back, its oscillating mass is decorated with snailed and “Côtes de Genève”.

Clifton Automatic Black Dial

Basically the same model but with a black dial treatment that gives the Clifton watch a stronger presence by emphasizing its character.

Offered on a brown alligator strap, the watch offers the time display in the center, seconds with a second hand at six o’clock and the date on an open-window at 3 o’clock.

Gold mechanical Clifton

“Gold is cold”… or not!

This time the Baume & Mercier Clifton is adorned with gold and equipped with manual winding mechanical movement: La Joux-Perret 7381 with a double barrel.

Its diameter is 1mm extra (42mm) and the watch comes with a black alligator strap.
