Could Junghans once again capsize our hearts? The answer is clearly: YES. The finesse and elegance of this new Meister Kalender unveiled at Baselworld is in line with the creation of the brand. Here is a description of this model, which could quite possibly be in our 2013′ Top 10 discoveries.
This new Meister Kalender features a classic design with this modern twist that Junghans masters at perfection. The new complications fit perfectly on the large rounded dial for optimum readability of the time indicators. At 10 o’clock days 2 o’clock months and 6 o’clock the moon phase indicator topped with a hand pointing to the current date.
Available in three different versions (40.4 mm) – Steel / Steel – Yellow Gold PVD / Steel – Rose Gold PVD – this Junghans Meister Kalender is equipped with a self-winding movement J800.3 based on an ETA 2824-2 (some Switzerland in the “Made in Germany”).
As in many other models of the brand, the attention to details (decorations of the movement, luminous hands, index, bracelet…) is a very positive point, view of their price. The three versions indeed oscillate between € 1,990 and € 2,190.
However the steel bracelet option is really proscribed because it completely devalues the delicacy and beauty of the watch.
As a conclusion, the integration of additional complications to this typical Junghans watch gives more strength and character to the models from the Master collection without affecting readability. We shall not miss to steal one for a special photo report by Les Rhabilleurs soon!
