We had it on hand some time ago without having (taken) the time to give you photos and information about it as a teaser. Shame on us! Since then, no more news, until today… We can now officially announce that Hamilton is launching its first regulator watch this year within its Jazzmaster collection. Let’s see what we are dealing with exactly here.

First, for those who are not familiar with it, the term regulator was originally applied to observatory clocks and nowadays applies more commonly to watches that display non-coaxial hours, minutes and seconds hands.

Also to large pocket watches supposed to have a good accuracy, originally intended for railwaymen (railway regulators). A theme dear to the brand that received the title of “railroad horological accuracy” in 1890 .

The new Hamilton Jazzmaster Regulator range thus dissociates minute from hours in an attractive asymmetrical design. Further evidence of that Hamilton is indeed able to reinterpret the watchmaking traditions in creating contemporary pieces that will be talking about. It is certain (

C’est certain (cf. our photos on Instagram that awakened more than one).

The exclusive movement H-12 of the Hamilton Jazzmaster regulator gives the dial a unique design, and presents an original way to show the passage of minutes with an air of independence. With the separation of the minute and seconds on different axes and sub-dials, reading minutes can be performed very easily and quickly.

The Hamilton Jazzmaster Regulator range is composed of 3 timepieces. The silver or blue dial is adorned with applied numerals. Counters display a sun brushed finishing and the surface that surrounds them an opaline one for a more effective contrast.

The asymmetrical design is emphasized by the offset positioning of the hours counter which occupies the space at 10 o’clock. The wristband is available in leather or stainless steel, depending on the style you want to give to these contemporary timepieces also aesthetic than precise.
